A preeminent authority, coach trainer, and keynote speaker on Gestalt coaching for individuals, groups, and organizations, Dorothy Siminovitch, PhD, MCC has worked internationally in professional coaching for over 20 years.
Dr. Siminovitch pioneered the synergistic adaptation of Gestalt theory, concepts, and methodology to the emerging field of coaching in 1995. She conceived, co-taught, and served as Director of Training for the International Gestalt Coaching Program at the Gestalt Institute of Cleveland, the first Gestalt coach training program worldwide to earn the International Coach Federation’s ACTP accreditation. She founded and serves as faculty and Director of Training for her second ICF-ACTP coach training program, the Eurasian Gestalt Coaching Program in Istanbul. Her third ICF-ACTP program, the Gestalt Coaching Program of Canada in Toronto, launches in 2015.
Dorothy is founder and Principal of Gestalt Coaching Works, LLC. She has been invited as a coach to work with or consult on major projects by national and international companies such as Philip Morris International, De Lage Landen, Ralph Lauren, and most recently with Four Seasons Istanbul. She has facilitated or delivered advanced Gestalt coach training around the world, including Coaching Without Borders in Budapest. In 2012, Dorothy was a Catalyst Speaker at the ICF Annual Conference in London. In 2014, she will co-present at the ICF Global Conference in Malmo, Sweden.
Dr. Siminovitch has published defining articles on the foundations, practice, and implications of the Gestalt approach in coaching. She is co-author of “The Pragmatics of Magic: The Work of Gestalt Coaching” (ODN 38.1 ): 5-55) and “The Power of Presence and Intentional Use of Self: Coaching for Awareness, Choice and Change” (IJCO 6.3 : 90-111). She is the expert interviewee for Gestalt coaching (“Define Your Unique Identity”) included in the ebook Ready! Aim! Soar! The Expert Insights System for Business Growth and Success in the 21st Century. By invitation, Dr. Siminovitch contributed an article on Gestalt coaching to ICF’s Coaching World (“Practicing Gestalt”), published in the August 2013 issue. She brought her particular knowledge and practices of Gestalt to her co-authored article, “Coaching High Potential and High Performance Clients” (IJCO 29.8(1) : 78-93), one of her coaching specialties.
Dorothy is a Master Certified Coach, accredited by the International Coach Federation. She is a certified Somatics Coach, and is certified by the Hay Group in emotional and social competency assessment and its uses. She recently completed service on the Board of the Association of Coach Training Organizations. Dorothy provides world-class training in and transformative human development through Gestalt-based coaching and holistic approaches, leading to outstanding results for individuals, groups, and organizations. Her specialties are coaching for leadership presence and peak performance, overcoming derailment, and working with high performance groups and teams.
