A preeminent authority on coaching, transformation learning, and transition and change in the adult journey, Pamela McLean, Ph.D. has been at the forefront of the field of adult development and the emerging field of coaching for the past 30 years.
As CEO and Co-Founder of The Hudson Institute of Coaching, Pam oversees one of the premiere coaching programs and adult learning organizations, which is committed to excellence in developing highly skilled coaches with a focus on coaching theory, current research and best practices.
The Hudson Institute specializes in providing high quality coach training to seasoned professionals and leaders, along with a series of internal coaching programs for leaders and managers in organizations around the world. In addition, working in the arenas of clinical and consulting psychology, and leadership coaching and development, Pam has worked with hundreds of organizational leaders and seasoned professionals inside organizations and in solo practice to deepen and strengthen their coaching skills. She has also consulted numerous organizations in developing coaching cultures and establishing best practices inside organizations.
Dr. McLean is the author and co-author of several books, articles and chapters focused on coaching, human development and transformational learning. She is author of the 2012 Completely Revised Handbook of Coaching and the co-author of HI’s well-known book on transition and change, LifeLaunch, A Passionate Guide to the Rest of Your Life.
Dr. McLean is a Master Certified Coach, accredited by the International Coaching Federation, an Advisory Board member of WCAL of Portland, Oregon, and a Board member of LikeMinded, Inc. San Francisco, California. McLean also serves on the faculty of Saybrook University in San Francisco. She has served on the Women’s Leadership Board at the JFK School of Public Policy, Harvard University. She is a member of the American Psychological Association’s Division 13, Consulting Psychologists, a Fellow of The American Group Psychotherapy Association, and an Editorial Board Member of the International Journal of Coaching in Organizations (IJCO). Pam engages as an activist and leader in her community serving as the Board Chair of Directors of the Central California Planned Parenthood Affiliate and the Strategic Advisory Board of Women’s Economic Ventures in Santa Barbara County.
