Annemarie Lombard Biography

Sensory Intelligence® is an innovative profiling and training organisation started in 2003. The concept and theories are fully rooted in neuroscience, research, brain development and learning and used for people development.  It helps individuals, teams and families to understand how their 7 senses intuitively respond to the environment to influence daily productivity, well-being and relationships.

Through extensive online sensory profiling,  workshops and coaching, the solution provides value to coaches, leaders, work teams, healthcare professionals, wellness practitioners, parents and teachers.  Sensory neuroscience gets unpacked in a practical and easy to understand format to help people develop awareness for self and others and self-regulate using the body and the senses.

The Full Summit session will unpack sensory intelligence(R) in more detail and focus on the value proposition for coaches and their clients:

  1. Sensory neuroscience and the environment - how the 7 senses influence daily attention, emotion and behaviour
  2. Sensory processing styles - understanding sensory thresholds and how they influence productivity, wellbeing and relationships
  3. Open plan office productivity - insights and strategies to balance collaboration and distraction
  4. Relationships and teamwork - sensory diversity as a tool to drop labels and display empathy and care
  5. Wellbeing - sensory connections to be more mindful, engaged and present

Dr. Annemarie Lombard, the founder, and CEO of Sensory Intelligence(R) is a registered occupational therapist and work with a wide group of clinical occupational therapists, trainers, coaches, and professionals to deliver sensory intelligence(R) across various industries.

The second full summit session will showcase a coaching session with a client to integrate the sensory intelligence framework, its simplicity, and application for the audience.

  1. Needs analysis and concern of our demo coachee
  2. The Sensory Matrix(R) results - comprehensive online assessment and results for our coachee - scores, and interpretations
  3. Making it real - how do the results relate to daily behaviours, concerns, irritations
  4. Understanding the coachee’s environment and how sensory thresholds account for ease of performance versus irritations and hurdles
  5. Sensory intelligence(R) interventions:
    1. Sensory snacks - quick and easy sensory tools to help anywhere, anytime
    2. Sensory diets - making the best lifestyle and stress management choices aligned to your sensory matrix(R) results
    3. Sensory ergonomics - environmental adaptations to reduce sensory overload

Key Learning Takeaways

  1. Understand the coaching conversations within a sensory intelligence(R) framework. In particular how to take a complex and multi-faceted science and make it easy, effective and valuable for coaching clients.
  2. Identify how easy, simple and small solutions can make a big difference to clients output.  I.e. turning down the ringer of a mobile phone can reduce sensory triggers, overload, and fatigue resulting in more sustained and productive output.
  3. Understanding the influence of our daily environments on people and how a bottom-up self-regulation approach release cognitive processing, thinking, and success.
